Tucked away in the beautiful area of Pincher Creek is one of the most talented female photographers I’ve had the chance of working with.
Meet Jenny of Mill Canyon Photography. A happily married mother of two children who also works as a wildfire ranger in the summers.
Jenny found her start about 15yrs ago while working in Parks around Alberta and capturing nature and wildlife images using her father’s old Pentax manual camera and lenses (I had a Pentax too!). She later progressed to more fashion/fantasy inspired shoots as some of her greatest inspirations are: the lovely Amanda Diaz, Annie Mitova, and her inspiration for nature photos is John Marriott.
She specializes in outdoor photography incorporating nature in one way or another. With a special eye for vintage glamour, bridal, and fairytale sessions. I’ve always loved her work, and due to our busy schedules we didn’t get the chance to work together until spring of this year.
I would’ve loved to come down to her ranch just south west of Pincher Creek, which boasts beautiful mountain views, fields of hay and flowers, forests, mountain streams and an abundance of wildlife, unfortunately I didn’t have the time so Jenny was kind enough to make a trip to see me here in Calgary.
Jenny brainstormed a steampunk shoot, so we arranged to meet early one cold, spring morning to shoot on a railroad track and bridge. She brought my outfit and everything all I had to do was get my hair and makeup done (by Tara of course) and bring shoes 🙂
She is lovely to work with and produced some of mine and my family, friends and fans favourite images. I will treasure these forever and consequently any others myself and Jenny collaborate on.
In the meantime here are all the images from our shoot. If you like this share it on your wall! It’s a great inspiration for Halloween!
